This pretty village lies four miles west of Marlow, situated in one of the most attractive valleys of the Chilterns. Lord Cardigan was born in the Manor House here in 1797, and the sea chest which accompanied him to the Crimea is preserved in the church. Also in the church is some panelling bearing the arms of Cardinal Wolsey and said to be originally part of his bed.
